What is Din Din?

Din Din is an online ‘Meals as a Service’ web-based and app-based platform. Chefs are able to pursue their passion while consumers are able to explore the world around them through authentic, homemade meals from the community, delivered straight to their home.

Who is the Din Din customer?

Suburban parents stressed out from the chorus of daily obligations; Hospital patients coming home from surgery; Millennials looking for meal options and cultural experiences; Employees working from home; Office workers looking to source food in an otherwise ‘food desert’; Seniors who are sheltering in place.

Who are the Din Din chefs?

Din Din chefs are a community of entrepreneurs who want to share their food and stories while flexibly growing their business.

Where is Din Din Located?

Din Din currently operates from multiple locations in Washington, DC, Maryland, and Northern Virginia. If Din Din is not in your area yet, please visit www.eatdindin.com and sign up so we can let you know when we arrived in your area.

Ordering and Delivery

How does the ordering process work?

In the Din Din app, follow these steps:

1. Log in using you email and password (If not yet established, please do so by clicking “Get started”)

2. Browse the chefs and menus available in your area

3. Select each meal you want by clicking Book Meal, then selecting the quantity desired. Notes to the chef can be added here

4. Order as many meals needed for the week, by multiple chefs

5. When complete, click go to my cart to review your Order Summary. Quantities can be edited on this screen.

6. Proceed to payment. Enter in payment information.

7. Receive an email with order summary and delivery day & time.

How far out do I need to place my order?

Orders can be placed by 8 p.m. EST on Thursday for a Sunday delivery or 8 p.m. EST on Sunday for a Wednesday delivery.

What are the portion sizes?

Meals are currently available in two sizes: Family portion or a personal portion. A family portion is equal to 4 individual serving sizes and typically feeds 4-6 people. A personal portion is an individual portion size and is equal to 1 individual serving.

What If I placed an order and I need to modify or cancel?

Customers must notify Din Din of modified / cancelled orders at least 48 hours in advance of the delivery date. For orders cancelled within this timeframe, we will gladly process a full refund and notify the cook of the cancelled order. Unfortunately, due to the nature of planning out meals and preparing dishes, we cannot accept cancellations made less than 48 hours in advance.

What happens if I have an issue with my order?

We aim to strive for a seamless, positive experience, yet if an issue arises please go to the Resolution center at customersupport@eatdindin.com and share your experience. We will address your issue within 24-48 hours.

Do you deliver to my zip-code?

Once you input your address on eatdindin.com, you will be told whether Din Din is currently in your area. If we do not yet deliver to you, please sign up to be added in the future.

How do my meals stay fresh during delivery?

Din Din ensures meal(s) are packaged with gel packs, stored in cool vehicles and delivered to your front door.

Do I need to be home to receive my meals?

No. You do not need to be home; however, it is important to place food in the refrigerator or freezer as soon as possible. Food is packaged to remain safe for 4 hours. Note: Din Din will not be responsible for food not picked up when contacted after the 4 hour window.

My gel packs were not fully frozen upon arrival. Is the food safe?

Food safety is one of our top priorities. It is normal for the gel packs to be slightly melted by the time they arrive. The gel packs provide safe temperatures for food up to 4 hours. Simply transfer the meals to the fridge immediately.

What if I live in a secured building with a doorman?

Please provide Din Din as many details needed upon checking out to ensure a smooth drop off to your location.

Food Safety

Is my order ready to eat when delivered?

Your orders comes ready to “heat and serve” and only needs to be warmed. Please refer to the heating instructions on the package.

What if I have a food safety concern?

We understand the importance of food safety and take it very seriously at Din Din. If you experience food safety issues, you can file a complaint at customersupport@eatdindin.com. Please note this is for validated orders only. Please share the order # and the specific meal when filing the complaint. Depending on the severity and frequency of the incident, Din Din reserves the right to notify law enforcement professionals as appropriate.

What is Din Din’s Covid-19 practice?

Din Din follows the recommendations established by the Center of Disease Control and Prevention (https://www.cdc.gov/coronavirus/2019) with stated policies for drivers and chefs. For more information, please visit our Food Safety page.

How do I heat up my meal?

Microwave or warm in the oven, as directed on each individual meal or pan.

Can I freeze my meals?

Yes. Please refer to the use/freeze by date on the package.

How long do the meals last?

The weekly meals should be eaten or frozen by the use/freeze by date listed on the package. This is usually within (1) week of delivery.

Which delivery carriers do you use?

Meals are delivered by a 3rd party transportation service.

How are my meals packaged?

Meals are packaged in a box with cold packs to ensure food safety requirements are met per the FDA guidelines.

Account Management

How do I set up my Din Din profile?

Log onto www.eatdindin.com and click Sign Up at the top right hand corner. Follow the prompts to add your name, address, email, phone number, and payment information. Payment information is only used to pay for any transactions made on the Din Din app.

How can I rate my experience?

We welcome and appreciate your time to rate your experience. Simply navigate to your profile at the top right of the page, and scroll down to see your order history. From there, you will be able to rate each individual meal.

How do I view past orders or receipts?

Simply navigate to your profile at the top right of the page, and scroll down to see your order history. Additionally, a receipt is emailed to you after ordering.

How do I verify my email and phone number?

For both the app and website, the verification code for the email address will come through an email. For both the app and website the verification code for the phone will come via text message.

How do I change my password?

There are two ways to change your password:. The “Sign in with Email” screen under “Forgot password?” or From the Profile screen, select the gear icon in the upper right to arrive at the Account Settings screen, then select CHANGE PASSWORD. Note: If a user has used social login to login into the app, the password cannot be changed by the Din Din app.

Can I save multiple addresses in the Din Din app?

To ensure accurate and timely delivery, only one address can be secured in the app.
